India vs Afghanistan ICC World Cup 2023

Afghanistan:

Afghanistan made their ICC Cricket World Cup debut in 2015. In the 2015 World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand, Afghanistan played in the group stage matches but did not progress to the knockout stage.

In the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup held in England, Afghanistan had a challenging tournament, winning just one out of their nine matches. They displayed moments of brilliance but were unable to secure a spot in the semifinals.

India:

India, on the other hand, is one of the most successful teams in the history of the ICC Cricket World Cup. They won the tournament in 1983, 2011, and 2019.

In 1983, India, under the captaincy of Kapil Dev, won their first-ever World Cup by defeating the West Indies in the final.

In 2011, India won the World Cup again, this time under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, by defeating Sri Lanka in the final held in Mumbai.

In the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, held in England, India finished in the top four of the tournament's league stage and proceeded to the semi-finals, where they were defeated by New Zealand. India won the third-place playoff match against Sri Lanka.
